Today's Quiet Time is Brought To Us by #Kidoodle.TV

Three kids means a lot of attempts at quiet time, with very little quite time actually taking place.

Most of the time its OK, I'm used to noise at this point, but there are times when I really need some calm and quiet.  At home when I'm trying to take a nap get some work done, or during an important phone call, at the drs office while waiting for an appointment, not to mention road trips, there are times where running wild and playing just don't work.

My two favorite techniques to buy myself some quiet time are bribery and distraction.  Bribery usually comes in the form of chocolate or a new toy, and the most effective distractions involve me handing over my phone or tablet.
It seems outrageous to me that children as young as mine can work technology at all, let alone something like an Iphone, but my two year old is more proficient with it than I am, she can unlock it and find "her games" with ease, its amazing.
We've rotated through a few different apps over the past few months, but I find that a lot of them are either too advanced for my girls, requiring my constant attention and assistance, or have pop ups with in app purchases and ads.
I was recently given a chance to test out Kidoodle.TV

"Kidoodle.TV is an online, streaming video service for children ages 12 and under. It is not only mobile, but safe, with robust parental controls and time limits. Featuring a brightly coloured, easy-to-use user interface, customizable profiles for up to 5 children, and great entertainment and educational content from a variety of sources for only $4.99/month, Kidoodle.TV is child oriented and convenient, with no adult content and no commercials.

Not only does it not have annoying pops ups or opportunities for my kids to spend my money, it has a full set of parental controls that give me confidence that my children aren't going to be exposed to anything that I don't want them seeing.
I was able to set up profiles for each of my daughters, decide how long they could access the programming for, It even let me set up which shows my children could pick from, and I won't deny my excitement when I saw that Inspector Gadget (!!!) was one of the choices.
