My children are budding little artists, and man are they prolific!

I have a never ending stream of pictures that fill my bulletin board, fridge and various frames around my house. Most of them are quick scribbles,  but there are a few really special pieces in my collection.  One picture, brought home just a few weeks after school started that shows Sophia's vision of her family, its one of the first pictures she ever brought home, and one of the first that had easily identifiable content.

Many Food Banks across Canada are requesting help these days. Food donations have been down in many towns and cities. Perhaps you have not been able to contribute this year or you have already donated food items.

In any case, there is a new way you can help without costing a cent except for your time. All you need to do is send a free ecard to someone special, and Kraft Canada will donate $2 to Food Bank Canada! Kraft Canada will donate up to $50,000 between now and December 31! How easy is that!

All you need to do is click on the “Preview” and after your new window pops up, click on the gift tag.

Angel Notion

While researching our upcoming vacation to the Mayan Riviera, I came across a link for Angel Notion. The more I read about this amazing clinic the more I knew I wanted to help.

Angel Notion is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and donations to provide education, medical aid, and opportunities for people of lesser means and special needs. Angel Notion is located in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

The Vision of Angel Notion is to provide the disabled children of Playa del Carmen with:
Customized medical attention and rehabilitation to achieve physical and mental capacities of functioning that could not otherwise be reached
Specialized treatment and surgery
Seminars on Life Skills to promote independence in day-to-day living
Seminars on Work Skills to enhance opportunity for job placement
Love, support and guidance as they find their own way in the community and society at large.

Angel Notion provides a rich variety of services with a focus on preventative care. Our approach is holistic, integrating traditional medicine with alternative approaches at an affordable cost for the underserved members of the community. No patient is ever turned away because of inability to pay. Our goal is to find solutions where they previously didn’t exist, to improve the quality of life and reduce suffering.

See Kai Run For Haiti

Dear Friends of See Kai Run,

By now you have heard about the overwhelming devastation caused by a 7.0 earthquake, which struck Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Tuesday evening, and the desperate need for supplies and donations.

In response to the dire need, See Kai Run has put together an emergency shoe donation of nearly 3,000 pairs to help the children in this ravaged part of the world. The donated shoes will be distributed through Soles4Souls, the international charity dedicated to providing footwear to disadvantaged people around the world. According to Soles4Souls, a sturdy pair of shoes is absolutely necessary in times like these when the amount of broken glass, twisted metal and raw sewage is staggering.

What Can You Do to Help?

Soles4Souls accepts ongoing shoe donations from individuals and retailers. You can donate new or gently worn shoes that are just taking up space in your closet -- every little bit counts. Just bind each pair with rubber bands and drop them off at a participating location. Or, send them to a Soles4Souls warehouse facility.

Andira donated school supplies to children living in endangered rain forests across Central and South America and had them illustrate what they see occurring around them. Each Andira Rain Tee features their thoughts and illustrations and the child’s name.
Sadly, as show in “Tree of Life” which displays a tree crying leaves that symbolize its tears, may of these children witness the destruction of their rain forest homes each day.
