Potty Training Made a Little Easier with #MajestaEZ Flush

You know what the biggest surprise was for me after having kids?
How much I didn't know.
Before I had kids, I was the best parent in the world. My future children would be the best eaters and sleepers, they would speak two languages (at least) never get whiny, and just overall be perfect.
Then I woke up, actually, then I had a baby.
My theories on food, sleep, discipline, and pretty much everything else went out the window when I held that scrunchy little baby and realized that I knew NOTHING.

The last four years as a mommy have been a learning curve for sure, and every time I start to get a little confident, something new comes my way.
As my kids grow and change we face new challenges together, and one of the ones we've been facing in this house recently, is potty training.  We are finally at a point where my eldest can sleep without a diaper, and I can confidently say that she is 100% percent potty trained (Ok well maybe 98%).
Now its time to start with V.
I am not looking forward to starting from scratch.  Potty training means being constantly hyper vigilant, it means accidents and messy carpets, it means not leaving the house for days on end, it also means becoming an expert on unclogging toilets.
To this day, S insists on using a giant handful of toilet paper every time she pees, combine that to the fact that she only flushes the toilet every three or four trips to the bathroom, and you have a recipe for disaster.  I cannot tell you how many times I have gone into the bathroom to see a mound of toilet paper so big that I cant even see the water.
When I recently had the opportunity to try out Majesta EZ flush toilet tissue I jumped at the chance.

MAJESTA e•z flush is the choice of Canada’s leading performance manufacturer of low flow and dual flush systems, American Standard. The perfect balance of softness and flushability, ideal for low flow and dual flush system, families with kids, homes on septic systems, cottage’s and RV’s.
Majesta is challenging its users to see the flushability for themselves by doing the shake test.  Me and my little helpers did our own shake test, here's how it all went down.....

Majesta EZ Flush

Majesta EZ flush Shake Test

We started by putting 5 sheets of tissue and 1.5 oz of water into each bottle, and shaking each bottle 5 times.  Right away, you could see that the Majesta had almost disintegrated while the leading brand was still intact.

We then poured (or attempted to pour) both bottles into a bowl.  You can see below that the Majesta EZ Flush poured right out with no trouble, The tissue itself is almost completely disintegrated leaving just fibers in the bowl.

The other brand however was still completely intact and actually clogged the opening of the bottle as we tried to pour it out.  In the end, it didn't even come out.  Its easy to imagine what would happen if this was a toilet.

So there you have it.  The Majesta EZ flush was way more flushable than the leading brand.

  5. That is cool! Much easier on septic systems, I've often wondered about those flushable wipes, if they really do disintegrate as promised when flushed. Thanks for the great review!

  7. That is so cool that you did an experiment for us! It's one thing to write about what a product is supposed to do...it's definitely best to actually see it!

  8. Where the heck were you 5 years ago!! The most beautiful, tear-evoking, party-tastic day of my life (outside of my wedding day and the birth of each of my kids) was the day my youngest was toilet trained. The day they all stopped using crud tons of toilet paper and clogging up the toilets was a dang awesome too. :)

  13. Wow! It's really impressive how quick it disintegrates, I need to try and see how my regular paper is doing. Great tip, thanks :)

  15. I have never heard of this brand but I need to look into it. My toilets are always clogged by my 2 and 4 year old boys. Oldest thinks he needs to wipe with a half a roll and my 2 year old just throws the whole thing in there.
